Sony has released a smaller PSP Firmware update coded 3.73. You can download this new PSP system software now via Network Update. The only thing it does is that it improves the operation of the UMD drive to adress cases in which the UMD drive occasionally suspends and fails to reload data. Updating to Firmware 3.73 should kill this failure.

Earlier this week Sony announced a longer life PSP battery. This new PlayStation Portable battery will last 11 hours but the bad thing about this battery is its size. The new PSP battery and its cover stick out a little but it isn’t such a big bulge as you can see on the pictures. This new battery fits on the old PSP model and on the new Sony PSP Slim and Lite 2000.
Sony has announced that they will release a new and better battery for the Sony PlayStation Portable Slim & Lite next week. The battery life will be doubled, but it will bea little thicker than the old version of the PSP battery. This new PSP Slim and Lite battery will ship with a new cover. The good news is that you can use this better battery for the old PSP as well. Sony will sell these new batteries for $44,99 and they have announced that they will sell this new PSP battery in Europe as well.
Some third party accessory producers already have better PSP batteries for a lower price.
Months ago an ESRB rating for the PSP game ‘Beats’ was appeared on the official ESRB website. Today a new trailer of this music game for the PlayStation Portable popped up on the internet.
