Hello Robert,

You have reached the department within Sony that deals strictly with the PlayStation(R) products designed for use in North America (United States and Canada). For customer service support in your region of interest, please visit the following URL and choose your country or region:

http://www.playstation.com

If you are unable to locate your country or region by visiting the above URL, we apologize for any inconvenience. Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) may not have authorized distribution centers for PlayStation(R) products in your region at this time.

In the meantime, please be aware that due to different television and voltage standards, and a variety of licensing issues, Sony Computer Entertainment has implemented a territorial-based distribution system for its hardware and software. This limits the use of any particular software to play on the console designated for that distribution territory (e.g. North American games will not play in the systems designed for other regions, such as, Japan, Europe, etc.). We do not have any information on adapters or converters made to override territorial restrictions. The various PlayStation(R) consoles and format software titles are only designed to run in their respective regions and countries.

*For consumers from the African region, please contact Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE).

Regards,
Julio B.

After mentioning to a friend that I was thinking of buying my grandson an electronic game for Christmas he returned from a trip to Asia with a PSP. The box says "For Sale in Japan Only" so I suspect that is where he picked it up. If there was a manual initially, it was lost or perhaps it was in Japanese. I thought I could easily download a manual but this unit seems different from what I am seeing on your sites. The one I have has the standard 4 buttons on each side as well as the Analog Stick. However, it does not have the buttons along the bottom other than the "Select" & "Start" which are more over on the right hand side. On the sides, it has a card slot and a jack receptor on the bottom and 2 jack receptors, a USB receptor and an on/off lever on the top. There is nothing on the ends, and no openings on the back other than a right & left speaker and, I assume, a camera. Could you please advise where I might find an appropriate english manual for this item.
Tkank you
